Mitsotakis and Anastasiades sign Memorandum of Cooperation for the reconstruction of affected areas in Mati

Greek Prime Minister, Kyriakos Mitsotakis, and President of the Republic of Cyprus, Nicos Anastasiades, signed on Tuesday in Athens, a Memorandum of Cooperation for the reconstruction of areas in Mati, affected by the 2018 fires.

The Memorandum of Cooperation concerns the construction of a social housing complex, as well as the transformation of the wider green area into a forest recreation area, with funding from resources raised by the Republic of Cyprus and private donations.

The Memorandum of Understanding was also signed by the Greek Minister of Finance, Christos Staikouras, and the Minister of Energy, Trade, and Industry of the Republic of Cyprus, Natasa Pilidou.

Central Bank reports slowdown in the price of houses, apartment prices go up

A slowdown in the residential property price indices in Cyprus both quarterly and on an annual basis has been reported in the second quarter of 2021, as a result of a small decrease in the price of houses and an increase in the price of apartments.
