Increased security during Israeli President’s official visit to Cyprus

Increased security measures will be in place on Wednesday in Cyprus during an official visit by Israel`s President Isaac Herzog.

The police have said in a press release that from 10:00 to 16:00 hours local time on Wednesday traffic will be disrupted for a few minutes in a number of streets in Larnaca district, in Larnaca to Nicosia motorway and in Nicosia district.

The public is being asked to follow the directions of the officers on duty.

Cyprus’ Deputy Ministry of Innovation presents its work on the Gov.cy platform, for public digital services

The initiative of Cyprus’ Deputy Ministry of Research, Innovation and Digital Policy, to upgrade public digital services through the creation of the Digital Services Factory (DSF) in collaboration with the United Kingdom’s Government Digital Service (GDS), was presented on Tuesday at the conference “The Digital Services Factory Way: Faster, Smarter, Simpler digital services”, in Nicosia.

The project, within the framework of the “Digital Cyprus” programme, aims to create a digital platform based on the British Gov.uk, where citizens will be able to access all public services, with ease and security.

Cohesion policy discussed in informal meeting of EU Ministers at Rouen

The Cohesion Policy was discussed at the informal meeting of the EU competent Ministers. The meeting was held in Rouen, France, on Tuesday. Theodosis Tsiolas, General Director of Development at Cyprus` Ministry of Finance, represented Constantinos Petrides, Minister of Finance, according to an announcement issued by the Ministry of Finance.

The participants in the meeting exchanged views regarding the 8th Progress Report of the Cohesion Policy, which is published every three years. The aim of the report is to assess the course and the results achieved by the Cohesion Policy as well as to start discussion regarding challenges and needs that the European Cohesion Policy Funds are called upon to meet in the future.

The EU Commissioner focused on important evidence from the Progress Report as regards the financial impact of the Cohesion Policy on the EU regions,
