The Department of Meteorology has issued a yellow warning for heavy thunderstorms and hail for Easter Sunday.

The warning will be effective from 5 a.m. until 7 p.m.

According to the Department of Meteorology, isolated heavy thunderstorms are expected to affect the area, initially expected in the western part and gradually spread to the remaining areas of the island.

During the storms, hail is likely to fall. Precipitation rates are expected to range between 35 and 55 millimetres per hour.
