Low Pressure Brings Cloudy Weather and Showers to Cyprus Sea Area

Nicosia: Low pressure is currently impacting the sea area of Cyprus, leading to predominantly cloudy weather conditions with expectations of local showers and isolated thunderstorms. These weather conditions are initially anticipated over the western, northwestern, and southern regions, before gradually extending to other areas.

According to Cyprus News Agency, visibility is generally good but may reduce to moderate or poor during showers. The atmospheric pressure recorded at the time of the forecast release was 1014 hPa, and the sea surface temperature stands at 21°C. There are no warnings issued for this period.

The forecast details for the sea area's wind conditions and state of the sea are as follows:

- West Coast: During the night, winds are expected to shift from northeast to southeast with a Beaufort scale of 3 to 4 and the sea state will be slight. By morning, winds will change to east to southeast with the sea becoming smooth to slight. In the afternoon, winds will vary locally from southeast to southwest, maintaining a smooth to slight sea state.

- South Coast: Overnight, the coast will experience north to northeast winds ranging from 3 to 4 on the Beaufort scale, locally reaching 4, resulting in slight sea conditions. As morning progresses, these conditions will persist with winds gradually reaching locally 4, and the sea remaining smooth to slight. In the afternoon, winds will shift from northeast to southeast, occasionally reaching locally 4, with a slight sea state.

- East Coast: The night will see northeast to east winds with a Beaufort scale of 3 to 4 and a slight sea state. By morning, these conditions will continue, with winds gradually reaching locally 4. The afternoon will see continued northeast to east winds, at times locally reaching 4, maintaining a slight sea state.

- North Coast: The night will bring northeast to southeast winds with a Beaufort scale of 3 to 4, and offshore winds reaching 4 to 5, resulting in a slight sea state, with offshore conditions ranging from slight to moderate. These patterns will continue into the morning with northeast to southeast winds, while offshore areas experience northeast to east winds of 4 to 5, maintaining similar sea conditions. By afternoon, winds will again be northeast to southeast, offshore shifting to east to southeast, with Beaufort scales of 4 to 5 offshore, maintaining a slight to moderate sea state.
