Nicosia: The level of bilateral relations between Cyprus and Uzbekistan, along with economic, business, and cultural ties, as well as ways to strengthen them, were discussed at a meeting between the President of the Cyprus-Uzbekistan Business Association, Arofat Salayeva, and Constantinos Christofides, Head of the Department for Eastern Europe, Western Balkans, and Central Asia at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Cyprus.
According to Cyprus News Agency, the meeting, held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, also emphasized educational issues and other forms of collaboration. This discussion comes ahead of an upcoming visit by a delegation from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan to Cyprus on June 12-13, led by the country’s Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs.
Salayeva presented the Association’s goals, underlining the importance of institutional support, communication with public and private sector stakeholders, and the organization of joint initiatives. She expressed gratitude towards the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Cyprus for the opportunity to discuss strengthening Cyprus-Uzbekistan relations, with the aim of enhancing mutual understanding and supporting initiatives that bring the peoples of both countries closer together.
According to the press release, both parties agreed to maintain open channels of communication, with the aim of building even stronger ties between Cyprus and Uzbekistan.
