Jerusalem: The President of the Republic, Nikos Christodoulides, met on Monday afternoon with the President of Israel, Isaac Herzog, as part of his visit to Jerusalem to participate in the 10th Cyprus-Greece-Israel Trilateral Summit. The President's meeting with his Israeli counterpart was followed by a meeting with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu at 5:30 p.m.

According to Cyprus News Agency, during the meeting, they discussed how to deepen their cooperation, including through the trilateral alliance between Israel, Cyprus, and Greece, and the importance of the Israel-Egypt gas export deal for regional stability. "Israel and Cyprus are close friends and strategic partners in the Eastern Mediterranean," Herzog said.

Herzog also reiterated "the demand and the obligation to release the last Israeli hostage still being held by murderers in Gaza, Staff Sgt. Ran Gvili." Separate bilateral meetings will also be held between the Foreign Ministers and Energy Ministers of Cyprus and Israel. The programme also includes a meeting between the National Security Advisors of Cyprus and Israel.

President Christodoulides will then participate in the Cyprus-Greece-Israel Trilateral Summit.
