Brussels: Industrial production in the European Union showed a slight increase in June 2025 compared to the same month in 2024, with a growth of 0.2% in the euro area and 0.5% across the EU. However, Cyprus experienced a 0.9% decrease in its industrial production during the same period.
According to Cyprus News Agency, Eurostat, the statistical office of the European Union, reported that the most significant annual increases were observed in Sweden, with a substantial rise of 13.4%, followed by Ireland at 10.5%, and Latvia at 7.3%. On the other hand, Bulgaria saw the most considerable decrease at 8.2%, with Hungary and Slovenia also experiencing declines of 4.9% and 4.3%, respectively.
In terms of monthly changes, industrial production in June 2025 saw a seasonally adjusted decrease of 1.3% in the euro area and 1.0% in the EU compared to May 2025. This follows a period of growth in May 2025, where the euro area experienced a rise of 1.1% and the EU as a whole saw an increase of 0.8%.
