Hermes Airports: 48 Flight Cancellations in Larnaca and 18 in Paphos on Wednesday

Larnaca: There were 48 flight cancellations at Larnaca Airport and 18 at Paphos Airport today, Wednesday, due to recent developments in the region, according to data from Hermes Airports as of 14:00 (local time).

According to Cyprus News Agency, a total of 65 flights were initially scheduled in Larnaca on Wednesday and 38 flights in Paphos before the cancellations were announced. Despite the disruptions, Hermes Airports assured that both Larnaca and Paphos airports are operating normally, serving passengers on all available flights. The airports are working collaboratively with relevant state authorities and the entire airport community to manage the situation.

Hermes Airports also provided information on airlines that provide direct connections from both airports. From Larnaca, Wizz Air and British Airways operate flights to and from the United Kingdom. Aegean, Sky Express, Cyprus Airways, and Wizz Air offer flights to Greece, while Lot and Wizz Air connect with Poland. Ryanair links Larnaca with Austria, and Air Serbia and Wizz Air offer flights to Serbia. Additional connections include Wizz Air flights to Bulgaria, Romania, Hungary, Spain, Slovakia, the Czech Republic, Moldova, and Lithuania, Egypt Air to Egypt, and Cyprus Airways to France. Other routes include Aegean to Belgium, Wizz Air and Fly one to Armenia, Georgian Airlines and Wizz Air to Georgia, Air Baltic to Latvia, and Middle East Airlines to Lebanon.

In terms of connectivity from Paphos, flights to the United Kingdom are available with Jet2, Ryanair, and British Airways. Ryanair and Wizz Air serve Poland, while Ryanair also connects Paphos with Greece, Germany, Austria, Bulgaria, Lithuania, Romania, Latvia, Hungary, the Netherlands, Croatia, and Italy.

Travelers are advised to check the airlines' websites or contact their travel agents for detailed information and reservations. The situation remains fluid, with airlines adjusting their schedules based on evolving circumstances. However, Hermes Airports indicated that airlines have planned additional regular flights to and from Cypriot airports in the second half of March.
