Foreign Minister Travels to Egypt for Bilateral Talks and Trilateral Summit with Greece

Cairo: Foreign Minister Constantinos Kombos will travel to the Arab Republic of Egypt on Saturday, where he will have a bilateral meeting with his Egyptian counterpart, Badr Abdelatty, and attend a trilateral summit with Greece's Foreign Minister.

According to Cyprus News Agency, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated in a press release that the agenda for the bilateral meeting between the two Foreign Ministers will cover several key topics. These include enhancing Cyprus-Egypt cooperation, particularly in the energy sector, discussing the Cyprus Presidency of the Council of the European Union (EU), EU-Egypt relations, the Cyprus issue, and regional developments.

Moreover, Kombos is set to participate in the Trilateral Meeting with the Foreign Ministers of Egypt, Cyprus, and Greece. The summit will focus on strengthening trilateral cooperation, addressing regional developments, and discussing matters related to EU-Egypt relations.

The Republic of Cyprus took over the Presidency of the Council of the EU for the second time on January 1, 2026, for a six-month term, as part of a Trio Presidency with Poland and Denmark.
