Nicosia: In the fourth quarter of 2025, a total of 2,625 third-country nationals were ordered to leave Cyprus, recording a decrease compared with the previous quarter (3,875), according to data published on Tuesday by Eurostat.
According to Cyprus News Agency, during the same period, at the level of the European Union, a total of 117,545 non-EU citizens were ordered to leave EU Member States, while 33,860 people were returned to third countries. Compared with the fourth quarter of 2024, the number of non-EU citizens ordered to leave decreased by 6.1%, while returns increased by 13%.
The highest numbers of non-EU citizens ordered to leave were recorded in France (34,040), Spain (12,380), and Germany (10,720). Similarly, the highest numbers of people returned to third countries were recorded in Germany (7,690), France (3,800), and Sweden (2,870).
Among non-EU citizens ordered to leave, most were citizens of Algeria (12,455), Morocco (7,385), and Turkey (5,225). Regarding returns, the highest numbers concerned citizens of Turkey (3,155), Georgia (2,390), and Syria (2,105).
Eurostat data show that the numbers of orders to leave and returns fluctuated compared with the previous quarter, with an overall decrease of 4.4% in orders to leave and a decrease of 0.9% in returns to third countries.
