Cyprus to Experience Higher Temperatures and Clear Skies on Epiphany Day

Nicosia: Cyprus will enjoy favorable weather conditions on Epiphany day, January 6, with sunshine and temperatures higher than the seasonal average, according to the forecast of the Meteorological Service.

According to Cyprus News Agency, Meteorological Officer Andreas Chrysanthou stated that the weather until Wednesday will remain mainly clear, though occasional cloud cover is expected. Starting Sunday, temperatures will rise, reaching levels slightly above the norm for this time of year. Chrysanthou emphasized that no rain or storms are anticipated due to prevailing high-pressure conditions on the island.

He further explained that the weather from Saturday until Wednesday will be predominantly clear, with increasing temperatures both during the day and at night. Swimmers on Epiphany can look forward to warmer temperatures and more sunshine, with local cloud cover and favorable sea breezes in Paphos. The rest of the coast will experience stronger winds, particularly in the east, north, and south, though they are expected to be light to moderate, with occasional moderate winds.

Chrysanthou noted that the weather pattern might shift after Wednesday. The Meteorological Service's forecast issued on Saturday afternoon predicted mainly cloudy conditions for the rest of the day, with variable, weak winds and calm to slightly rough seas. Frost is possible in sheltered mountainous regions.

Saturday evening's forecast indicated partly to mainly cloudy skies, with northwesterly to northeasterly winds, light to moderate in strength, and calm to slightly rough sea conditions. Temperatures were expected to drop to around 3 degrees inland, 8 degrees on the coast, and minus 1 degree in higher mountainous areas, with frost likely in certain regions.

On Sunday, partly to mainly cloudy weather is expected, with winds shifting from the northeast to southeast, growing stronger along the coast. The sea in the west will remain slightly rough, while the north, east, and south will experience slightly rough to temporarily rough conditions. Temperatures are expected to rise to around 15 degrees inland, 17 degrees on the coast, and 7 degrees in the higher mountains, with frost possible in sheltered mountainous areas.

Looking ahead to Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday, the weather is expected to remain mostly clear, with some areas experiencing occasional cloud cover. Temperatures are anticipated to continue rising, exceeding average seasonal values by Wednesday.
