Cyprus Political Leaders Encourage Voter Participation in Elections

Nicosia: Political party leaders in Cyprus have made a concerted appeal to citizens to participate in Sunday's elections for a new House of Representatives, emphasizing the significance of these elections as a democratic celebration.

According to Cyprus News Agency, Annita Demetriou, President of the Democratic Rally, described the elections as a "celebration of democracy marked by hope and optimism" after casting her vote in Troulli village. She emphasized that the election results would shape the House's future actions and its response to the nation's challenges.

AKEL's General Secretary, Stephanos Stephanou, stressed the importance of voting as an act of responsibility, urging citizens to vote "together responsibly for the present and future of society and Cyprus" after voting in Yeri, Nicosia.

Nicolas Papadopoulos, President of the Democratic Party (DEKO), highlighted the potential impact of the elections on Cyprus's future, urging citizens to actively participate in shaping the future of their homeland and families.

Christos Christou, President of the National Popular Front (ELAM), expressed readiness for his party to assume responsibilities as decided by the Cypriot people, following his vote in Politiko village.

Marios Garoyian, President of the Democratic Alignment (DIPA), called for national consensus, unity, and compromises to tackle the country's challenges, highlighting the need for collective effort after voting in Nicosia.

Nicos Anastasiou, President of Social democratic EDEK, urged citizens in Limassol to vote for a cooperative House of Representatives that will work towards the country's future.

Andromahi Sofocleous, co-President of Volt, encouraged citizens to choose a new political culture and mentality, calling the elections an important day for democracy and responsibility after voting in Nicosia.

Stavros Papadouris, President of the Ecologists Movement - Citizens' Cooperation, called on citizens to exercise their "inalienable right" to vote, emphasizing that democracy is celebrating.

Odysseas Michaelides, President of the Alma - Citizens for Cyprus movement, declared that the citizens' voices would be heard, following his vote in the village of Kokkinotrimithia.

Christos Clerides, President of Democratic Change (DIMAL), expressed confidence in democracy's triumph, voting at the Lycavitos Elementary School in Nicosia.

Apostolos Apostolou, head of the Popular Struggle, focused on the liberation of Cyprus as his party's goal, casting his vote in Nicosia.

Sotiris Christou, President of SIKOU PANO, described the elections as a "celebration of democracy" in his remarks in Nicosia.

Phidias Panagiotou, President of the Direct Democracy movement, thanked election workers and voters after casting his vote at Meniko Elementary School.

Nicolas Prodromou, President of the Active Citizens - United Cypriot Hunters Movement, urged Cypriots to take control of their fate through voting, after voting at Frenaros Elementary School.

Andreas Themistocleous, President of the Democratic National Movement (DEM), expressed hope for a stronger Cyprus emerging from the electoral process.

Finally, Celestina De Petro, President of Far-Left Resistance Communism, emphasized strengthening the Parliament as a key outcome of the elections, casting her vote in Nicosia.
