Nicosia: The electoral process is continuing smoothly and without any major problems, said the Chief of Police, Themistos Arnaoutis, at noon on Sunday.
According to Cyprus News Agency, Arnaoutis noted that the cooperation between the services involved is continuous and effective. "Members of the Police are present at all polling stations and also on patrol throughout Cyprus to ensure law and order," he stated.
Responding to a question, the Chief of Police confirmed that no major problems or irregularities have been reported in the electoral process. He emphasized, "There may be minor issues, that is, they are not worth mentioning so far."
Finally, when asked if it is the responsibility of the Police to move political party banners that remain posted in various places, Arnaoutis replied in the negative.
