Cyprus-Greece-Israel Enhance Military Cooperation Through New Trilateral Working Plans

Nicosia: The trilateral working plan for military cooperation, alongside the armed forces' working plans of Greece, Cyprus, and Israel, marks a significant step toward enhancing military ties among the three nations, as shared by competent sources with the Cyprus News Agency (CNA). These sources emphasized that there is no intention to create a joint brigade.

According to Cyprus News Agency, the working plans, which were formalized last week in Cyprus, encompass joint exercises, training, and working groups spanning various fields, along with strategic military dialogue on common interests. The Israeli delegation, led by Brigadier General Amit Adler of the Tevel Brigade, convened in Nicosia with their Greek and Cypriot counterparts during a joint annual meeting of the three countries' armed forces.

The sources highlighted that the signing of these plans is a further step in deepening military cooperation, contributing to the strengthening of stability, security, and peace in the Eastern Mediterranean region. Furthermore, it was clarified that Nicosia has no intent to provoke Turkey or escalate verbal tensions, and the assertion of creating a joint brigade was dismissed, countering recent media reports.
