Cyprus-Focused Startup Event Connects Diaspora and Technology Ecosystem in London

London: More than 100 founders, researchers, and startup executives with strong ties to Cyprus participated in the inaugural event organized by Cyprus Seeds and 33East in the United Kingdom.

According to Cyprus News Agency, the event aimed to foster closer collaboration between the Cypriot diaspora and the Cypriot technology ecosystem. Hosted at the Cypriot High Commission in London, the event was supported by its Trade Section.

The event featured presentations from startups Electryone AI, Genie Fertility, and Tyten, which are backed by 33East. The founders shared their journeys from initial concepts to product development, highlighting both the challenges and opportunities in technology entrepreneurship. Ioannis Kasinopoulos of Electryone AI discussed the company's role in the new energy economy, focusing on transforming homes into active grid participants through an intelligent software platform. Andreas Chatzimichalis presented Genie Fertility's model, which utilizes molecular data from the endometrium to offer personalized fertility and women's health solutions. Tom Petrides outlined Tyten's development from the Antler accelerator to its recent funding round, emphasizing its AI platform for building facilities management.

Cyprus Seeds and 33East also detailed funding opportunities, mentoring, and access to international partner networks. After the presentations, attendees engaged in a networking session, fostering direct connections between entrepreneurs, researchers, and the Cypriot diaspora.

The event is part of a broader strategy by Cyprus Seeds and 33East to connect founders, researchers, and investors in international markets, enhancing Cyprus's global technology presence. 33East, supported by the Cypriot government, focuses on pre-seed and seed stage investments, while Cyprus Seeds supports the commercialization of scientific research.
