Sofia: The Cyprus Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCCI) took part in the Transnational Partners' Meeting of the European project SUSTAINET, held on February 19 and 20, 2026. The meeting in Sofia, Bulgaria, focused on advancing environmental performance, knowledge sharing, and green business innovation through a European network.
According to Cyprus News Agency, the SUSTAINET project, co-funded by the European Union under the Erasmus+ programme, aims to equip businesses with the necessary tools to enhance their environmental performance. The project also seeks to promote green business innovation and education both locally and internationally. Over two days of discussions, project partners reviewed the implementation progress and coordinated future steps in key Work Packages. A special focus was placed on developing Tools and Resources for Green Business Innovation Centres (GBICs) and enhancing vocational education and training (VET) and higher education programmes to support green skills.
As one of the five project partners from Cyprus, Bulgaria, and Greece, the CCCI is dedicated to supporting the establishment and operation of GBICs. The chamber actively contributes to promoting sustainable economic development and green innovation in Cyprus and across Europe. The participation of the CCCI in this transnational meeting underscores its commitment to facilitating the green transition of businesses through collaboration, knowledge exchange, and the development of modern educational tools.
