Nicosia: Cloudy weather and local rain are expected over the Green Monday long weekend, the CyMet forecast says. The temperature will drop Sunday and Monday with a minor increase on Saturday.
According to Cyprus News Agency, CyMet official Iasonas Christodoulou mentioned that the weather will be clear at the beginning, but clouds and isolated rain are expected in the mountains and in the northern part of the island. The temperature on Saturday will be around 21 to 22 degrees Celsius inland and on the coast, and around 14 degrees in the mountains.
Sunday will experience some local rain and possibly isolated storms initially in the western half of the island, mainly in the Paphos district, northwest of Polis Chrysochous. The conditions are expected to gradually affect the entire island. Some snow is also anticipated in the highest peaks of the Troodos mountains on Sunday.
CyMet is forecasting isolated rain on Green Monday and isolated storms around noon, with snow or sleet on the highest peaks of Troodos. The temperature is expected to be 18C on Sunday compared to 22C on Saturday. Christodoulou noted that rain is expected in the morning hours on Monday, but it will not be of particular intensity or widespread. However, during the afternoon and early evening, the phenomena will be more widespread in several areas, with the potential for isolated storm conditions.
