Nicosia: The American Chamber of Commerce in Cyprus (AmCham Cyprus) hosted its annual Thanksgiving Gala Dinner, bringing together notable guests, government officials, business leaders, and diplomats to celebrate the robust partnership between Cyprus and the United States. The gala underscored the growing presence of US companies in Cyprus, particularly in sectors such as energy, technology, healthcare, and transportation.
According to Cyprus News Agency, the event was attended by His Excellency, the President of the Republic of Cyprus, Mr. Nikos Christodoulides, and representatives from the US Embassy. Special recognition was given to US Ambassador Julie Davis and her team for their contributions to advancing economic and cultural ties. Mr. Marios Kapiris, President of AmCham Cyprus, in his keynote address, highlighted the strengthening bilateral relations and praised the President’s recent visit to the US as a significant milestone fostering security cooperation, investment, and innovation.
Mr. Daniel Mangis, Charg© d’Affaires of the US Embassy, conveyed Ambassador Julie Davis’s greetings and expressed optimism for future Cyprus-US commercial relations. He thanked President Christodoulides for his role in enhancing bilateral ties and acknowledged AmCham Cyprus’s efforts in attracting investment and supporting innovation. Mr. Mangis also noted legislative developments aimed at enhancing transparency and national security in Cyprus, which are expected to benefit American companies.
President Christodoulides emphasized the evolving Cyprus-US relationship and its strategic importance. He cited key milestones such as the first Cyprus-U.S. Strategic Dialogue in Nicosia and the President’s historic visit to the White House. He also highlighted Cyprus’s role in regional stability and connectivity, including energy collaboration with Chevron and ExxonMobil, and partnerships with Greece and Israel through the 3+1 mechanism.
The President concluded by stating that Cyprus is confidently moving into a future defined by strategic relevance, actively participating in and shaping regional developments.
