Weather Advisory for Cyprus Coastal Areas: Showers and Thunderstorms Expected

Nicosia: Cyprus Department of Meteorology has issued a forecast for the sea area surrounding Cyprus, predicting a period of unsettled weather conditions. According to Cyprus News Agency, a weak low-pressure system is currently affecting the region, resulting in partly cloudy weather with an initial risk of isolated showers, primarily over the north and west coasts. By late afternoon, local showers and isolated thunderstorms are anticipated, with dust suspended in the atmosphere. Visibility is expected to be good, but it may reduce to moderate or poor during showers. The sea surface temperature is recorded at 18°C, with no warnings issued at this time. The forecast outlines specific wind conditions for various coastal areas. On the west coast, morning winds are expected to be from the south to southwest at Beaufort scale 3 to 4, gradually increasing to 4 to 5, causing the sea state to shift from slight to moderate. By afternoon, winds will localize at 5 to 6, making the sea moderate to rough. Overnight, win ds will decrease to 3 to 4, with the sea returning to moderate conditions. The south coast will experience similar wind patterns, with a gradual increase from 3 to 4 in the morning to 4 to 5 by afternoon, creating moderate sea conditions, with localized areas becoming moderate to rough. Nighttime winds will decrease to 3 to 4, moderating the sea state. On the east coast, morning winds will be south to southwest at 3 to 4, with localized areas reaching 4 to 5, resulting in slight to moderate sea conditions. Afternoon winds will maintain at 4 to 5 offshore, with the sea remaining slight to moderate. Overnight, winds will decrease to 3 to 4, with the sea state slight. The north coast will also see morning winds of 3 to 4, increasing to 4 to 5 by afternoon, with localized areas reaching 5 to 6, causing slight to moderate sea conditions. Overnight, winds will reduce to 3 to 4, with the sea state slight to moderate, gradually becoming slight.
