New Book Explores Future of Inclusivity in the Workplace

Nicosia: 'A Research Agenda for the Future of Inclusivity in Work,' a new book co-edited by Dr. Andrie (Georgiou) Michaelides, Lecturer at the School of Economics and Management of the Open University of Cyprus, has been published. The book, part of the Elgar Research Agendas series by Edward Elgar Publishing and slated for release in 2026, is a collaborative effort with Dr. Adelina Broadbridge of Stirling Business School, University of Stirling, UK, and Dr. Agneta Moulettes, formerly of Lund University, Sweden.

According to Cyprus News Agency, the authors present an innovative approach to the future of inclusivity in work, aiming to chart possible paths for its evolution. Central to their discussion is a gender perspective, through which they offer a comprehensive review of contemporary research on employment, gender, and inclusion. They also propose future directions for emerging forms of work organization.

The book delves into various scholarly approaches to examine issues such as technological, environmental, and demographic changes influencing employment in relation to work, leadership, and legitimacy. Topics closely related to the workplace, including artificial intelligence, remote work, women's entrepreneurship, LGBTQIA+ networks, migration, and the workplace situation of women with disabilities, are also explored. The authors analyze gendered and intersectional inequalities across different aspects of working life, advocating for a future of work that promotes inclusivity and equity, challenging existing dominant structures.

As a resource, the book is beneficial for students and academics in gender studies, business and organizational management, human resource management, and sociology. It is also relevant to employers, executives, and policymakers looking to create a more inclusive work environment.
