EU Agri-Food Trade Shows Stability Amid Rising Import Prices

Brussels: The latest agri-food trade report published by the European Commission indicates a stabilization in the EU's agri-food trade in November 2025, following a peak in October. The trade has maintained a solid standing despite the challenges posed by high import prices.

According to Cyprus News Agency, between January and November 2025, the cumulative EU agri-food surplus reached £46.1 billion, marking a decrease from the same period in 2024, attributed primarily to elevated import prices. In November, the EU agri-food exports amounted to £19.7 billion, a 2% decrease compared to November 2024. However, cumulative exports by November 2025 totaled £219.2 billion, reflecting a £2.8 billion increase compared to the same period in the previous year.

EU imports remained elevated, with agri-food imports reaching £15.6 billion in November 2025, showing a 1% rise both month-on-month and year-on-year. From January to November, cumulative imports amounted to £173.1 billion, marking a £15.9 billion increase due to higher commodity prices. The detailed tables and insights are available in the monthly EU agri-food trade report.
