Cyprus Sea Area Forecast Indicates Stable Weather Conditions

Nicosia: The Cyprus Department of Meteorology has released the latest forecast for the sea area surrounding Cyprus, indicating stable weather conditions for the period from 1200 on February 20, 2026, until 1200 on February 21, 2026. The area is currently under the influence of weak high pressure, resulting in mainly fine weather with good visibility. The atmospheric pressure at the time of the forecast issuance was recorded at 1025 hPa, and the sea surface temperature stands at 18°C. No warnings have been issued for the period.

According to Cyprus News Agency, the forecast details varied wind conditions across different coastal regions of Cyprus. On the west coast, the afternoon will see east to southeast winds ranging from 3 to 4, with local areas experiencing winds up to 4, resulting in a smooth to slight sea state. During the night, wind directions will shift northwest to northeast with similar intensity, while the morning will bring variable winds gradually becoming northwest. The sea state is expected to remain smooth to slightly rough throughout this period.

The south coast will experience northeast to east winds during the afternoon, with a smooth to slight sea state. In the night, winds will shift to north to northeast, maintaining a slight sea condition, which is expected to continue into the morning with northeast winds.

For the east coast, the afternoon will bring northeast to east winds, with a slight sea state. The night will see an increase in wind intensity, occasionally reaching 4 to 5 locally, while maintaining a slight sea state. These conditions are likely to persist into the morning.

On the north coast, northeast to east winds will dominate the afternoon, accompanied by a slight sea state. The night will bring a shift to east to southeast winds, with local areas experiencing northeast to east winds, resulting in a smooth to slight sea condition. In the morning, winds will again be northeast to east, maintaining a slight sea state.
