Yerevan: Cyprus President Nikos Christodoulides will act as moderator of an interactive panel featuring the leaders of Italy, France, the United Kingdom and the European Commission on European unity and cohesion on Monday, within the framework of the European Political Community (EPC) Summit taking place in Yerevan.
According to Cyprus News Agency, on the sidelines of the Summit, President Christodoulides is to hold bilateral meetings with heads of state and government, as well as with leaders of organisations, as stated in an official statement by the Presidency. President Christodoulides arrived in Yerevan on Sunday evening, where he was received by the Prime Minister of Armenia. On Monday, he was accorded an official welcome at the Summit venue and was expected to have a brief meeting with the President of Moldova, Maia Sandu, before attending the opening ceremony of the EPC Summit.
At 10:30 a.m. (Cyprus time), he will participate in the plenary session of the Summit, during the second part of which he will moderate an interactive panel with the participation of the leaders of Italy, France, the United Kingdom and the European Commission. The discussion will focus on maintaining European unity and cohesion in times of multiple crises, with particular emphasis on security.
A working lunch will follow, after which the President of the Republic will take part in a thematic session on the European Alliance Against Drugs, and later in a discussion entitled 'Strengthening connectivity and economic security in the context of the green transition'. The President is expected to depart from Armenia in the afternoon.
