Nicosia: A magnitude 4.3 earthquake struck Cyprus, the Geological Survey Department said on Monday. The quake was recorded at 15:37 local time in the Paralimni area, situated on the island’s eastern coast.
According to Cyprus News Agency, the authorities detailed that the epicenter was located in the sea, 57 kilometers south of Paralimni, with a focal depth of 20 kilometers. The tremor was felt across the districts of Famagusta, Larnaca, and Nicosia, prompting concerns among residents.
The Geological Survey Department continues to monitor the situation to assess any potential aftershocks and impacts on the affected areas. No immediate reports of damage or injuries have been received following the earthquake.
