Cyprus Police reported 161 individuals and the owner of one establishment over violating restrictions to contain the spread of the coronavirus pandemic.
A police spokesperson told CNA the force in the last 24 hours ending on 06:00 local time carried out a total of 8,623 checks throughout the island.
In Nicosia, a total of 1,532 checks were carried out with 28 individuals reported, in Limassol 2,117 were carried out with 64 individuals reported, in Larnaca 11 citizens and 1 shop owner was booked following 1,326 checks, while in Pafos 24 individuals were reported after 1,168 checks.
