Nicosia expresses disappointment and concerns over Erdogan’s threats against Greece

Cyprus Ministry of Foreign Affairs has expressed disappointment and concerns over “the increase of the Turkish rhetoric insanity, this time with the historically inaccurate statements and public threats by the Turkish President against Greece and the Greek people.”

“We condemn this hybrid behaviour of Turkey, which is contrary to the international law and the general effort to build good neighbourly relations, which are necessary for the creation of conditions of security and prosperity in the Mediterranean region,” the Foreign Ministry noted.

Moreover, it said that such statements by the President of Turkey himself are unacceptable and insulting, and contribute to the climate of tension which Turkey is trying to create against the EU and its member states.

“We express our full solidarity and support to Greece and the Greek people,” the Foreign Ministry concluded.
