Cyprus House President denounces Turkish provocations during contacts with counterparts in Vienna

The President of the House of Representatives, Annita Demetriou, held separate meetings with the Speaker of the Parliament and the Chair of the Senate of Ireland, Seán Ó Fearghaíl and Mark Daly, respectively, and with the President of the National Assembly of Armenia, Alen Simonyan, on Tuesday afternoon, on the sidelines of the 5th World Conference of Speakers of Parliaments of the Inter-Parliamentary Union.

According to a press release issued by the Parliament, during the meetings, Demetriou referred to the latest developments in the Cyprus problem and denounced the escalating Turkish provocations in the fenced off area of Famagusta, occupied since Turkey’s invasion of Cyprus in 1974.
