Weak Low Pressure Brings Isolated Showers to Cyprus Sea Area

Nicosia: The Cyprus Department of Meteorology has issued a forecast for the sea area of Cyprus, detailing weather conditions expected from noon on November 26, 2025, until noon on November 27, 2025. The atmospheric pressure at the time of the forecast was recorded at 1019 hPa, indicating a weak low-pressure system affecting the region. This system is expected to bring locally increased cloud cover and isolated showers.

According to Cyprus News Agency, visibility over the sea is generally good but may reduce to moderate during showers. The sea surface temperature is noted at 23°C. No warnings have been issued for this period, suggesting that the conditions are not expected to pose significant threats.

The forecast specifies varying wind patterns and sea conditions across different coasts of Cyprus. On the west coast, winds in the afternoon are expected to be from the southwest to northwest at a force of 3 to 4, with the sea state described as smooth to slight. During the night, winds will shift from west to northwest, transitioning to northwest to northeast at a force of 3, maintaining a smooth to slight sea state. By morning, winds will be northeast, gradually turning locally east to southeast at a force of 3 to 4, with continued smooth to slight sea conditions.

For the south coast, afternoon winds will range from southeast to southwest at a force of 3 to 4, later shifting to southwest to west. The night will see west to northwest winds at a force of 3, with some local variability. Morning conditions will bring northwest to northeast winds, gradually changing to northeast to east at a force of 3 to 4, with the sea remaining smooth to slight.

The east coast will experience afternoon winds from northeast to southeast at times reaching a force of 3 to 4. During the night, winds will remain northeast to southeast at a force of 3, with local variability. In the morning, variable winds at a force of 3 will gradually shift to northeast to east at a force of 3 to 4, with the sea state changing from smooth to slight to slightly rougher conditions.

On the north coast, afternoon winds will be northwest to northeast at a force of 3 to 4, with some local variation to southwest to northwest. The sea will remain smooth to slight, with some areas becoming slightly rough. Nighttime winds will come from the southeast to southwest at a force of 3, with initial offshore winds from northeast to southeast at a force of 3 to 4. By morning, winds will transition to northeast to southeast at a force of 3, with offshore winds shifting to northeast to east at a force of 3 to 4. Sea conditions will remain smooth to slight, with offshore areas experiencing slightly rougher seas.
