The United States and the Republic of Cyprus made another important step in strengthening their international cooperation and partnership in the area of military training and security. On Thursday the US welcomed in their Embassy, in Nicosia, the first 8 officers from the National Guard, who are going to participate in the International Military Education and Training (IMET) program, offered by the US to Cyprus.
Speaking during a ceremony at the Embassy, US Ambassador Judith Garber noted that it was just a year ago that the US announced that the Republic of Cyprus will become the newest partner in IMET.
