US Ambassador visits museums, wineries and halloumi production units in Pafos

US Ambassador to Cyprus Judith Garber toured museums, wineries and halloumi production units in Pafos district Monday describing her experience as amazing and praising the efforts for sustainable development Cypriots producers are making.

Garber visited Droushia museum, a family production unit for halloumi, the worldwide known Cyprus cheese, Kathikas museum and a winery in the area. She also visited an archeological site in Pegeia, where excavations are taking place by a team from the US.

She said that she is proud that American archaeologists are here in Cyprus and teams of American students are helping to preserve the wonderful amazing history of the island.

Referring to her visits in wineries and production units she said that it is important to see the fantastic work being done adding that it is great that small producers are able to promote sustainability as well as so many of the traditions of Cyprus.

Head of AKTI Project and Research Center Dr. Xenia Loizidou who accompanied the Ambassador to her visits, said that yesterday was Biodiversity day and praised the fact that the Ambassador supports all AKTI’s efforts, projects and actions for sustainability.

She also said that it is important to support local producers and small production units.
