Turkey’s statements not transformed into actions, Cyprus FM says after meeting with Dendias

Cyprus Foreign Minister Nikos Christodoulides said on Monday that Turkey`s statements, are unfortunately, not translated into a cessation of its illegal actions.

In joint statements with his Greek counterpart Nikos Dendias, after a meeting they held in Athens, Christodoulides said that “the illegal and dangerous actions of Ankara in recent days, both off Crete and in the southwest of Cyprus, prove […] that the fine-sounding declarations, which we have had heard for a while from Turkey, are unfortunately not translated into deeds”.

Additionally, he said that Turkey’s foreign policy follows “a revisionist, neo-Ottoman approach, based primarily on the country`s military power”.
