Republic of Cyprus sends one more aircraft to fight the fire in the island’s Turkish-occupied areas

The Republic of Cyprus is sending one more firefighting aircraft to the Turkish-occupied areas to combat the large fire that is still blazing between the villages of Flamoudi and Ardana.

According to CNA sources, Cyprus has dispatched a total of three firefighting aircraft, two planes and one helicopter.

According to reports from the occupied areas, the fire has burned into ashes more than 3,000 acres of land, while four villages are at risk.

Four more helicopters are contributing to the effort, two from the UN and two from Turkey.

Meanwhile, two people have been arrested in the Turkish-occupied areas regarding the fire, which broke out yesterday.
