President Anastasiades pays Athens a visit on Wednesday

Cyprus President Nicos Anastasiades visits Athens on Wednesday, February 1, where he will lay the foundation stone for projects to be built in Mati, Attica, funded by contributions from the Republic of Cyprus and Cypriot citizens following the devastating fires in the area.

At 9.30 am, on Wednesday morning, President Anastasiades will hold a meeting with the President of the Hellenic Republic, Katerina Sakellaropoulou, at the Presidential Office. Later on, he will meet the Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis, at the Maximos Mansion.

Following the meeting, the Ministers of Education of Greece and Cyprus in the presence of the Mitsotakis and Anastasiades, will sign an agreement providing for the mutual recognition of higher education degrees.

The President of Cyprus and the Greek Prime Minister will then attend a ceremony at Mati, an area which was greatly affected by a forest fire in 2018, to lay the foundation stone for the construction of a residential complex and a park in the area.
