Cyprus President Nicos Anastasiades has a full agenda next week which includes the UNECE Ministerial Conference in Nicosia, the EU Summit in Prague and a meeting with his Portuguese counterpart who will pay Cyprus an official visit next Saturday.
A press release by the Director of the President’s Press office Andreas Iosif says that next Monday the President will address the award ceremony of the “Taki & Louki Nemitsa Foundation” at the Presidential Palace and will present the award to Professor Paraskeva Sfikas.
On Tuesday he will preside over the Cabinet’s meeting and the next day he will address the 9th UNECE Ministerial Conference, an event of international caliber, the first ever to be hosted in Cyprus. President Anastasiades will refer to Cyprus’ international initiative for an action plan to address environmental challenges of the countries of the region.
Later on Wednesday President Anastasiades will travel to Prague for the EU informal Summit and the 1st Meeting of the European Political Community, which aims to strengthen the political dialogue between EU Member States and third countries.
The President will also participate in a teleconference with a small group of leaders, at the invitation of the President of the European Council Charles Michel.
Next Saturday, the President of Portugal, Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa will pay Cyprus an official visit.
During the meeting the two men will discuss ways to further expand the bilateral relations. Cyprus issue and Cyprus’ agreement with neighboring countries will also be on the agenda.
On Sunday the President will address an anti-occupation event organized by the occupied municipality of Morphou while in the evening he will attend a reception in the framework of “Maritime Cyprus 2022” conference.
