Police report 18 individuals and 3 shop owners for violation of Covid-19 measures

Cyprus Police reported 18 individuals and 3 establishment owners for violating measures to contain the spread of the coronavirus pandemic.

 

A police spokesperson told CNA that in the last 24 hours ending on 06:00 local time on Saturday a total of 4.180  checks were carried out island-wide.

 

In Nicosia, the Police carried out 2,200 checks reporting 6 individuals and 3 shop owners, in Limassol 305 checks were carried out and 6 individuals were booked, in Larnaca the Police conducted 703 checks and 5 citizens were fined, in Pafos 1 individual was booked following 119 checks, in Famagusta 293  checks were carried out with no violation recorded, while no fines were issued after 265 checks carried out in Morphou.

 

Furthermore, Traffic Department and the Marine and Port Police carried out 148 and 147 checks respectively with no fines issued.

 

The majority of individuals reported did not wear face protective masks. One of the establishments was fined for allowing people to enter without a safe pass while the other two were booked for allowing people to dance.
