Cyprus Police fined 17 individuals for violating the measures aiming to contain the spread of the Covid pandemic.
A police spokesperson told CNA that in the last 24 hours ending on 06:00 local time Friday, the Force carried out 2.424 checks throughout the government-controlled areas.
In Nicosia, the Police carried out 788 checks reporting 2 individuals, in Limassol 219 checks were carried out with 8 individuals fined, in Larnaca 3 individuals were reported after 554 checks, in Pafos 1 individuals was reported after 143 checks, in Famagusta the Police carried out 315 checks reporting 3 citizens, while in the Morphou area 262 were carried out with no fines issued.
The Traffic Departments and the Port and Marine Police carried out 111 and 32 checks respectively with no violations recorded.
