Passengers stay overnight in Cyprus as flights redirected due to Iran attack

The passengers of three flights stayed overnight in Cyprus when their flights were redirected following the Iranian attack on Saturday evening against Israel which resulted in Israel, Jordan and Lebanon closing temporarily their airspace.

Four flights, a Wizz Air flight, a Royal Jordanian Flight and two Middle East flights were affected.

The Wizz Air flight initially bound for Israel returned to Luton after having refuelled in Larnaka airport.

However, passengers of a Royal Jordanian flight from Heathrow to Amman and of two Middle East flights which were meant to land in Beirut stayed in Cyprus hotels overnight.

Three morning Tus Air, Elal and Isr Air which were set to fly from Cyprus to Israel were cancelled.
