Department of Meteorology issued yellow warning for prolonged rain and possible heavy thunderstorms starting from midnight tonight until 18:00 local time Thursday.
The Department said that a combination of at times prolonged rain and possibly isolated heavy thunderstorms is expected to affect the area, initially mainly in the western and northern parts of the island but also from noon onwards inland areas and areas over the eastern and southeastern coast,
Total precipitation is likely to locally exceed 55 millimetres per hours, the Department said.
