President of the House of Representatives Annita Demetriou held a meeting on Thursday with newly appointed negotiator for the Cyprus issue, Menelaos Menelaou.
A press release by the Parliament says that during the meeting they discussed issues related to the negotiation process and the need to find ways to restart the process. Demetriou referred to the important role that the Parliament can play in the context of parliamentary diplomacy, and said that if requested, the Parliament can contribute in a constructive manner to this end.
They also discussed about the war in Ukraine, the EU – Turkey relations as well as issues concerning the small EU member states especially in relation to the institutional amendments that are under discussion.
