Government remains committed to a just solution say Defence Minister and Spokesperson

We remain committed to the efforts for a just solution to the Cyprus problem, Defence Minister Charalambos Petrides said Thursday at the unveiling of the bust of EOKA hero Nikos Theofanous at the Agios Antonios Park in Nicosia.

“The Government has not stopped for a moment to seek the resumption of the negotiations and dialogue in order to achieve a just and viable solution to our national problem”, said earlier the Government Spokesman Marios Pelekanos, saying that we will never accept the unacceptable positions of the Turkish Cypriot side, which defiantly and with various methods claims a two-state solution.

Speaking at an event for the celebration of the National Anniversaries of March 25 and April 1, Pelekanos said that “the substantial involvement of the EU and the acceptance by all sides that the solution must be based on European principles and value
