European Parliament bans Russian lobbyists from entering its premises, Roberta Metsola announced

The Conference of Presidents of the political groups of the European Parliament has decided to ban all representatives of Russian companies to enter its premises as lobbyists, Parliament President Roberta Metsola announced in a post on Twitter.

“Effective immediately, Russian company representatives are no longer allowed to enter @Europarl_EN premises”, Metsola wrote on Twitter.

“We must not allow them any space to spread their propaganda & false, toxic narratives about the invasion of #Ukraine” she added, and underlined that “we will remain united & strong against autocrats”.

Meanwhile, news website Politico reports that the Greens have sent a letter to the heads of the European Commission and the European Council asking that the two institutions impose a similar ban on lobbyists.
