Aid ships approach Gaza, preparations underway for 3rd mission, President says A maritime convoy with three ships carrying humanitarian aid, that departed from Larnaca port on Saturday, as part of the "Amalthea" plan for a maritime corridor to deliver aid to civilians in Gaza, will reach its destination today, President of Cyprus, Nikos Christodoulides, said on Monday. "In a very short time the second aid shipment will reach Gaza", the President said in his remarks, after attending a ceremony to commemorate the launch of the EOKA campaign, at the site of the graves of Greek Cypriots hung by the British during the anti-colonial struggle in the mid 50s, located within Nicosia Central Prison. House Price Index up 1.6% in Q4 2023 House Price Index (HPI) increased by 1.6% in the fourth quarter of 2023 compared to the corresponding quarter of 2022, while it decreased compared to the previous quarters of 2023. According to a preliminary estimate by the Statistical Service, the HPI for the fourth quarter of 2023 is calculated at 109.95 units. In its annual report for 2023, the PDMO said the government's cash reserves in end-2023 amounted to almost pound 2.83 billion (deposited at the CBC) covering 132% of debt maturing in the next 12 months. Industrial Output prices record annual drop for ninth consecutive month in March Cyprus Industrial Output prices marked its ninth consecutive month of annual reduction in March, with the Index of Industrial Output Prices for March 2024 marking a decline of 3.9% year on year. According to data released by the Statistical Service of Cyprus (Cystat) the Index in March amounted to 121.5 units (base 2021=100). Household debt at 66% and corporate debt at 133% of GDP in end-2023 Cypriot household debt in the end of 2023 amounted to 66% of Cyprus' GDP with the non-financial corporation's debt reaching 133%, data published on Tuesday by the Central Bank of Cyprus show.
