Cypriot Philippos Philis, President of European Community Shipowners’ Associations (ECSA), made it on Lloyd’s list for the 10 most influential shipping personalities for Maritime Regulatory Affairs, a press release by Cyprus Shipping Chamber says. Secretary General of ECSA Sotiris Raptis is also on the list.
The Chamber welcomes his addition to the List and underlines that under his chairmanship at ECSA and according to Lloyd’s List, Philis has contributed to the development of the Organization’s strategy in maritime policy matters and especially in terms of the green transformation of European Shipping, achieving, among other things, to adopt important Industry positions in the tentative agreement on the European Emissions Trading System for Shipping, reached recently.
Philis, is the first Cypriot Shipowner to be in the ECSA presidency, and the Chamber notes that this is yet another important success and recognition for him and Cyprus Shipping.
The Chamber also stresses that this is an important opportunity for Cyprus to participate, even more energetically, in the drawing up of European shipping policy.
Philis holds the position of President and Managing Director of the Lemissoler company, is a member of the Board of Directors of the Cyprus Shipping Chamber for the past 10 years and was Former President of the Board of Directors of the Chamber, in the period 2019-2021.
