The European Union will continue to stand next to Cyprus which is what “we said from the first moment”, Commission Vice President Margaritis Schinas said in a post on Twitter, on the occasion of the announcement of the approval of EU funding for migration and asylum infrastructure in the country.
“We said from the first moment that Cyprus will not be alone. We will be next to her” Schinas said, commenting on a post by the Cypriot Interior Ministry on the approval of the funds.
“European solidarity in action. Pacta sunt servanda” (note: agreements are to be kept) he added.
