Erol Bulut appointed Cardiff City’s new head coach

Turkish coach Erol Bulut has been appointed the new head coach of Welsh side Cardiff City, the English Football League Championship club announced on Saturday.

Bulut will meet the club staff and media for the first time on Monday afternoon, the statement added.

“Erol has vast experience both as a player and as a manager, having played Champions League football and managed European sides across 200 League games to date,” club owner Tan Sri Vincent Tan said.

“This level of experience is needed at this time and I think will prove invaluable to the squad.”

Bulut has coached several Turkish clubs including Istanbul powerhouse Fenerbahce, Gaziantep FK, Malatyaspor, and Alanyaspor.
