Nicosia: The Cyprus Deputy Ministry of Tourism is set to engage in 52 international tourism exhibitions in 2025, marking a significant effort to bolster its global tourism presence. The next major event on the agenda is the IFTM exhibition in Paris, scheduled for September.
According to Cyprus News Agency, the Deputy Ministry’s itinerary includes prominent events like the Caravan Salon in Dusseldorf in late August, followed by a series of exhibitions in September. These include the IFTM in Paris, the Tourism Expo Japan in Osaka, and SeaTrade Europe in Hamburg. In October, the Ministry will be represented at four additional exhibitions: two in Stockholm, one in Copenhagen, and the National Wedding Show in Birmingham, focusing on wedding tourism.
November’s schedule highlights participation in London’s World Travel Market (WTM), alongside events like IBTM in Barcelona, ITTF in Warsaw, and Philoxenia in Thessaloniki. The Ministry also plans to leverage the Athens Authentic Marathon to promote sports tourism, with additional events in Colmar and Leipzig.
In March 2025, Deputy Minister Kostas Koumis led the Cypriot delegation to ITB Berlin, engaging with significant tourism organizations targeting the German market, airline executives, and other international tourism bodies.
Throughout 2025, the Deputy Ministry has already engaged in exhibitions across countries like the Netherlands, Austria, UK, Switzerland, Germany, Finland, Ireland, USA, Lithuania, France, Estonia, Belgium, Latvia, Hungary, Denmark, Serbia, Sweden, UAE, Israel, China, and at the Travel Expo Cyprus, aiming to boost domestic tourism.
The 2024 annual report, released on 7 August 2025, highlighted the Ministry’s participation in 44 international exhibitions in 2024, with a focus on both general and niche tourism sectors. Major events included WTM-London, ITB-Berlin, IFTM-Paris, and IBTM-Barcelona.
The report emphasized the Deputy Ministry’s strategic goal of promoting the National Tourism Strategy 2030, aiming to position Cyprus as a year-round, high-quality, socially beneficial, and environmentally conscious destination. The strategy also prioritizes rural area promotion, destination quality labels, and the development of special tourism forms.
Looking ahead to 2026, the Ministry’s schedule already outlines participation in 47 international exhibitions.
