Unstable Weather Conditions Expected Over Cyprus Sea Area

Nicosia: Low pressure and unstable weather conditions are currently impacting the sea area of Cyprus, as reported by the Cyprus Department of Meteorology. Today, local showers and thunderstorms are forecasted, although the weather is predicted to improve significantly tonight, with only a risk of isolated showers, particularly over the northern and eastern coastal regions. In storm conditions, wind speeds may be variable, reaching up to 6 Beaufort with stronger gusts.

According to Cyprus News Agency, the visibility remains good, although it is expected to become moderate to poor during showers. The sea surface temperature is reported to be 29°C, with no warnings currently issued. The West Coast will experience northwest to northeast winds in the afternoon ranging from 4 to 5, resulting in a slight to moderate state of the sea. At night, winds will shift to northwest 4 to 5, gradually changing to northwest to north 3 to 4, maintaining a slight to moderate sea.

The South Coast will experience northwest to northeast winds at 4 in the afternoon, with slight sea conditions. At night, winds will be northwest 3 to 4, gradually reducing to 3, with the sea remaining slight. By morning, northwest to northeast winds at 3 to 4 will create smooth to slight sea conditions. On the East Coast, afternoon northwest winds of 4 to 5 will lead to slight to moderate sea states, reducing to 3 to 4 at night and then variable 3 by morning, resulting in smooth to slight seas.

The North Coast is anticipated to experience northwest winds of 4 to 5, occasionally reaching 5 to 6, resulting in slight to moderate sea conditions in the afternoon. At night, the winds will shift to northwest to northeast 3 to 4, while by morning, northwest to northeast winds will be 4 to 5, maintaining a slight state of the sea.
