Belgrade: Pafos FC achieved a big victory on Tuesday evening, beating Red Star 1-2 in Belgrade in the first leg of the Champions League playoffs. The Cypriot champions scored in the first minute of the match with Correia, while Pepe extended his team’s lead in the 51st minute with a converted penalty.
According to Cyprus News Agency, Red Star responded in the 58th minute with a goal by Duarte, but failed to equalise before the end of the match. The second leg will be played next Tuesday in Limassol, with Pafos FC looking to secure their place in the main phase of the competition.
