Cyprus to revoke Cypriot citizenship from four people

The Council of Ministers, which convened under President of the Republic Nicos Anastasiades, decided on Wednesday to begin procedures to revoke the Cypriot citizenship from four people.

In a written statement, Deputy Government Spokeswoman Niovi Parisinou noted that the decision covers the four persons’ dependents too.

The four persons have been identified in the updated list of sanctions of the European Commission against Russia.

She also said that following today’s decision, out of the 1,091 persons sanctioned by the EU, eight have had their Cypriot passports revoked.
