Cyprus reports 2 deaths from COVID and 2.491 new cases Friday, 191 patients in hospitals

Cyprus Health Ministry on Friday announced 2 deaths from COVID and 2.491 new cases. Hospitalizations rose to 191 and positivity rate stands now at 6,03%.

The deceased are two females 84 and 96 years old who passed away today. The total deaths since the pandemic broke out are 937 and of cases rose to 433.055.

Ministry said that 23 patients are in serious condition and figures show that 51,84% of the patients are uncaccinated.

Moreover, 13 patients who are no longer infectious, are intuated in an ICU.

Today a total of 41.302 tests were carried out. PCR tests were 1.837 and 145 positive cases were reported (positivity rate PR 7,89%) . The rapid tests were 39.465 and 2.346 cases were diagnosed (PR 5,94%).

In the framework of contact tracing a total of 919 rapid tests were conducted and 94 cases were detected (PR 10,23%).
